MM&B Bergen Bike Tour – See You at the Finish Line!
Hop on your bicycle and peddle your way over to the Bergen Bike Tour, a long standing favorite of the residents of The Modern, a rental apartment building in Fort Lee, New Jersey. This annual family oriented charity cycling event, now in its 19th year, will be held on Sunday, September 28. Individuals and families of all skill levels are invited to ride 10, 25 or 50-mile routes. The tour begins and ends at Darlington Park in Mahwah. Riders will enjoy some of Bergen County’s most scenic views while cycling through the towns of Allendale, Closter, Westwood, Franklin Lakes, and Waldwick, to name a few. This event will benefit the Volunteer Center of Bergen County and Tomorrows Children’s Fund at Hackensack University Medical Center – a nonprofit organization that provides a wide range of supportive services to children facing cancer or serious blood disorders, and their families.
The accounting firm of Murphy, Miller & Baglieri, LLP, has signed on as presenting sponsor of this event, which has been renamed the “MM&B Bergen Bike Tour”. The partners of MM&B have been involved in this charity since its inception and have been instrumental in raising over $1,500,000 for The Volunteer Center of Bergen County and Tomorrows Children’s Fund. “Each year, the Bergen Bike Tour turns over an average of 80% of the gross proceeds to our two charities, a rate that far surpasses many events of this kind,” says Phil Murphy, Founding Chairman of the Bergen Bike Tour and partner with MM&B, LLP. “We are proud of the event’s philanthropic efficiency and are optimistic that with corporate and community help we will have another successful year. Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 28 and join the fun while supporting great charities in your very own community”.
The MM&B Tour will also feature breakfast for all riders prior to the start of the tour. After reaching the finish line, cyclists, their friends and families are invited to enjoy a post ride picnic, in addition to a wide array of fun activities on the spacious grounds of Darlington Park: music, games, clowns and prizes for all. Make sure to stop by and take advantage of the registered massage therapists on hand to relieve cyclists’ aches and pains. Younger children (age 10 and under) are invited to bring their bicycles, trikes, scooters or big wheels to a Kids’ Fun Ride at 10:45 am. Parental supervision is required. Kids Ride participants do not have to turn in sponsorship pledges, and will receive a special t-shirt. After the Kids’ Ride, children can enjoy games and crafts during the post-ride picnic. Parents are asked to please register and pay $5 each for the picnic.
Registration for adults age 16 and up: $35 ($45 on site); youth age 10-16: $15; non-cyclists for picnic only: $5; children age 9 and under are free. Riders can pre-register online at bergenbiketour.org.
