Ready, Set, Serve – Creating Stronger Communities
Ready, Set, Serve (RSS) is a heavily credentialed training program created to help prepare and educate the next generation for leadership roles in their communities. Through a unique curriculum which boasts both classroom instruction and experiential training, RSS teaches middle- and high-school-age youth a wide array of leadership skills applicable to all areas of community service. The ultimate goal of RSS is to help foster stronger communities – and a stronger nation – by igniting in young people the ability and the desire to make meaningful, lifelong contributions to their communities. This incredible program all takes place at The First Presbyterian Church, near The Modern, new apartments for rent in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
This interactive, life changing curriculum, created by the Center for Creative Leadership, is designed to deliver the caliber of leadership training typically available only to business executives and government leaders. It features a challenging array of courses and exercises including community needs analysis, goal setting, team building, project planning, decision making, and other dynamic leadership techniques. The series wraps up with community service projects – conceived and implemented by the student participants – and a final graduation ceremony.
A lot of the curriculum is based on the generationOn goLEAD program, which encourages young leaders to aspire to community change makers. GenerationOn, part of the Hands On Network and Points of Light , inspires, equips, and mobilizes young people to make their mark on the world through service and leadership.
